Las Tinajas is located within easy walking distance from various beaches. The closest, Playa de Zahora, is best suited to adults and good swimmers, as the ocean current can be somewhat strong there. It also has a beachfront bar restaurant, Kalima.
Slightly further west along the beach is Playa Sajorami, which has large rock pools that are well-suited for smaller children, especially at low tide.
Playa del Faro is the beach at the bay next to Trafalgar lighthouse, which was inaugurated in 1862. This location is not only well known for the Battle of Trafalgar, which took place here in 1805, but is also a very popular spot for kitesurfers. However, one must be aware of the very strong undertow and currents at this beach, which is not suited to swimming.
Other beautiful and family-friendly beaches can be found at a short car ride's distance, such as Playa del Palmar in the direction of Conil de la Frontera, with approximately 7 kilometers of sandy beach as well as many local shops, bars and restaurants.
Andalucía, and more specifically the province of Cádiz, is known for its excellent local fish. The exquisite local bluefin tuna, Atún Rojo de Almadraba, is still caught using the ancient Phoenician fishing technique.
During the summer season, there is no shortage of excellent restaurants in the area. Some are within walking distance of the house, others can be found in the nearby towns.
